Which gaming console should you buy?

Which console to buy has becoming increasingly more complex? It's now not simply a case of picking the one with the top games or the next generation console/upgrade of the one you already have. The main consoles to choose from are the PSP3, Wii and the Xbox 360.

If you read my Wii review it describes this console as the most ground breaking when it was first released changing the course of gaming for years to come and spawned the newer controllers from its competitors. Since this original review Nintedo have improved its original Wii Remote, with the MotionPlus for an improved/increased accuracy. The Wii is great value if the type of games and controller appeal to you, a very good alternative to the other power-strong consoles.

If high grade graphics is what you're after, you should be looking at the Xbox 360 or the PS3. The PS3 specification boasts the best console graphically and is free to play online. The unit also doubles as a Blu-ray player and the PlayStation Move controller gives a wireless experience similar, if not better than the Wii MotionPlus.

The Xbox 360, on the other hand have a system called Xbox Live for online use, which does unfortunately come at a cost financially (but it is very reputable). The most interesting feature is its newest form of its controller, which is something a little different called 'Kinect', a controller less system that allows the users' body movements and speech to directly interact with games, like spinning a roulette wheel in a casino. A highly ambitious project leaving us in intense anticipation of its final results.

An in depth comparison can be seen in my console comparison review.

Nikon-COOLPIX P100

If you can throw your mind back in a year, you will remember that the Nikon COOLPIX P90 brought out as a solidly built the super zoom bridge ' camera, which granted several features belong to the typical DSLR cameras, while you're still making controls and menus, relatively easy to operate for them that was used for the simpler compact models.

The successor to the P90 has now come in the form of COOLPIX P100 and Nikon have tried to resolve some of the areas where the former machine was found missing. Externally, you probably will not notice that much has changed: dimensions (114 x 83 x 99 mm) and weight (approximately 481 g) of the P100 is almost identical to its predecessor.

The layout, are also the same, the bar two essential functions, which we will return to later. You still have a solid, Rubberized grip at the front, a solid metal housing for protruding lens and a similar rubber thumbrest on the back. TFT LCD remains the same 3 cm across, comes with a non-reflective coating and can be pulled out and Marjan elbow that fits your needs, but the major improvement is the doubling of display resolution from 230 k-dot to 460 k-dot, which provides much greater clarity and brightness.

The electronic Viewfinder remains unchanged 230 k-dot, and therefore you can find most useful in very light conditions or in the interiors where bright LCD ' is frowned upon. Mode dial on the top is reassuring fixed, (variably sensitive) zoom ring surrounding the shutter button enables quick and slower readjusting and there are the usual D-pad 4-way controller by the side of the LCD, surrounded by dedicated buttons for playback, the menu and to delete. Only inherited the function we would like to see improved button excessively Recessed power, which are small and fiddly.

But as we mentioned, P100 boasts two new additions to its control system-and together they provide a great boost for kameræts video capabilities. There is now a separate ' video record ' button that instantly would override any other setting for immediate movies capture (and even has a Web Editor-mo option), while the standard that has been raised from the P90 lowly VGA (640 x 480) resolution Full HD (1920 × 1080p) at 30 fps with stereo sound, thanks to the twin microphones mounted above the EVF. When mode dial is set to sport, Continuous, you can even shoot Full HD still photos at 10 fps. All your HD results can be played back through the built-in HDMI port.

If you trøde, a 24 x zoom was impressive, P100, a further with a 26 x zoom, which makes use of Vibration Reduction technology, as well as sensor-Shift stabilization to reduce camera shake to the furthest extent of the zoom. You'll even receive so struggling to maintain focus in the upper end.

On the downside, Nikon has decided to release the mega pixel level to 10.3 in P100, unlike 12.1 on the P90, and image quality is good, without becoming extraordinary-not uncommon in the class, the super zoom and may take a while to lock on to the right of the subject.

P100 is unlikely to appeal to serious photographers, as its image quality is not the top of the class-but its series of shooting options plus the addition of the Full HD movies and a massive zoom will attract compact crowd demanding more.
