Which gaming console should you buy?

Which console to buy has becoming increasingly more complex? It's now not simply a case of picking the one with the top games or the next generation console/upgrade of the one you already have. The main consoles to choose from are the PSP3, Wii and the Xbox 360.

If you read my Wii review it describes this console as the most ground breaking when it was first released changing the course of gaming for years to come and spawned the newer controllers from its competitors. Since this original review Nintedo have improved its original Wii Remote, with the MotionPlus for an improved/increased accuracy. The Wii is great value if the type of games and controller appeal to you, a very good alternative to the other power-strong consoles.

If high grade graphics is what you're after, you should be looking at the Xbox 360 or the PS3. The PS3 specification boasts the best console graphically and is free to play online. The unit also doubles as a Blu-ray player and the PlayStation Move controller gives a wireless experience similar, if not better than the Wii MotionPlus.

The Xbox 360, on the other hand have a system called Xbox Live for online use, which does unfortunately come at a cost financially (but it is very reputable). The most interesting feature is its newest form of its controller, which is something a little different called 'Kinect', a controller less system that allows the users' body movements and speech to directly interact with games, like spinning a roulette wheel in a casino. A highly ambitious project leaving us in intense anticipation of its final results.

An in depth comparison can be seen in my console comparison review.

Acer-Aspire 5745PG

The Acer Aspire family of notebooks continues to mushroom and it's not hard to spot what the main selling point of the 5745PG model is from the second it is powered up: her considerable touch screen capabilities.

The aspire 5745PG is a 15.6-inch notebook that wise decision to provide the maximum mileage out of the Windows 7 's built-in multi-touch technology by linking to Acer proprietary Touch portal system and so make sure that this would be a very attractive proposition for the businessman on the go who wants to get the most out of a relatively inexpensive machine.

Before the touch performance in detail, it's worth doing a tour of the external functions first. Externally the aspire 5745PG is gratifying slim (379 x 250 x 28 mm), relatively lightweight 2.75 kg and unmistakably chic with the glossy black 'pinstripe suit ' lid and finished in black and grey work surface.

A quick scan of the sides Unveils four USB 2.0-ports in addition to VGA, HDMI, Ethernet and a drive of the dual-layer DVD Super Multi. around the front is a 5-in-1 memory card reader that covers all of the usual suspects, including the increasingly out-of-for xD-Picture memory card. Although higher spec models a Blu-ray player instead of the DVD, it is a shame that one of the USB ports may not have been an eSATA variant.

Fortunately, Acer decided to use a full sized keyboard of the chiclet style with square-shaped keys that a dream to type on, company still respond. make the most of the space, Acer has also a full-size keyboard, but, as we have seen, it means inevitable squash down the space for the four arrow keys, which some people will annoy. almost invisible in the upper-right corner of the keyboard is a button to start PowerS mart mode, in addition to the manual DVD-release button.

Nothing else clutters the area around the touch pad and that's probably because the sterling use for scrolling and pinch-zoom, etc.. This brings us neatly 15.6 inch HD, LED-backlit display, TFT display, which is brightly lit with the native pixel resolution of 1366 x 768 and the multi-touch requirements agilely answered.

The Touch Portal icon sits comfortably in the corner of the frame, waiting to be dragged into full screen and so you can play and moving video, photos and music, as well as browse the net, search of Microsoft Surface Globe and play some games. it will works very well and clearly an asset for anyone who dislikes rummaging through folders using the conventional Windows interface.

Even the basic model of the aspire 5745PG discussed here was powered by an Intel Core i3-350 m processor clocked at 2.26 GHz, 4 GB of DDR3 memory, and could easily handle most multi-functional operations.

With a non-negligible NVIDIA GeForce 310 graphics card under the hood, you can even play relatively modest with pleasure and the stereo Dolby Home Theater surround speakers make movies look much more atmospheric than usual for a notebook.

320 GB hard disk storage space must be more than adequate for most business needs, but you will have to pack your power cord, battery life is only about 90 minutes on heavy duty levels, which extends to three and a half hours of light work.

Smart, with an extremely user-friendly keyboard and extremely efficient multi-touch screen options, the Acer Aspire 5745PG would need to be a valuable companion for anyone who matters in movement, despite its relatively short battery life.
