Which gaming console should you buy?

Which console to buy has becoming increasingly more complex? It's now not simply a case of picking the one with the top games or the next generation console/upgrade of the one you already have. The main consoles to choose from are the PSP3, Wii and the Xbox 360.

If you read my Wii review it describes this console as the most ground breaking when it was first released changing the course of gaming for years to come and spawned the newer controllers from its competitors. Since this original review Nintedo have improved its original Wii Remote, with the MotionPlus for an improved/increased accuracy. The Wii is great value if the type of games and controller appeal to you, a very good alternative to the other power-strong consoles.

If high grade graphics is what you're after, you should be looking at the Xbox 360 or the PS3. The PS3 specification boasts the best console graphically and is free to play online. The unit also doubles as a Blu-ray player and the PlayStation Move controller gives a wireless experience similar, if not better than the Wii MotionPlus.

The Xbox 360, on the other hand have a system called Xbox Live for online use, which does unfortunately come at a cost financially (but it is very reputable). The most interesting feature is its newest form of its controller, which is something a little different called 'Kinect', a controller less system that allows the users' body movements and speech to directly interact with games, like spinning a roulette wheel in a casino. A highly ambitious project leaving us in intense anticipation of its final results.

An in depth comparison can be seen in my console comparison review.

Blaze Sega Megadrive Handheld

07 Nov 2008 Launch price of £ 30.00 The highly addictive slab of retro gaming goodness. Shame there is no desert Strike while Pros pre-loaded with 20 games. Cheap Cons spongy controls. Missing some classic titles

For those of a certain age, a palmtop Sega Megadrive is the realization of a childhood fantasy. sure, the Game Gear was good, but it was not possible to run the full version of desert Strike.

Firstly, a caveat: MegaDrive Handheld of the blaze is not a complete version of the console. It is packed with 20 games and cannot be upgraded to store more but is terribly, terribly addictive.

Easy as A, B, C
The device is about the size of an iPhone chunky, but don't let this comparison excite much – he's oldschool via e. a d-pad and A, B and C keys sit both sides of the screen 2in and beyond them there are menu and Pause buttons, volume control, an on/off switch, headset and an AV-out for hooking it up to your television.

Sure, the concept is very similar to those cheap as chips with drives that you buy down the market overthrow Asian Games as ' Blue Hedgehog Game ' and ' terra ' Crazy Plumber. except this laptop you'll find 20 authentic classic Sega Megadrive games (the complete list is at the end of the review).

Spongy Buttons

The controls are a bit loose: Alex Kidd exceeded a bunch of jumps and Shinobi seemed to have put on a little weight to La Karate Kid 3. but the risk of reliance on simple game continues. Golden Axe is a pleasure if much harder than we remember and there's even a point of Ecco the Dolphin incomprehensible.

Being the demanding types, we cannot help out notable absences like bare-knuckle, John Madden, Desert Strike, and Sonic the Hedgehog (only Sonic and Knuckles very bottom is available here).

He won't compete with a DS or PSP and spongy controls will stay in your nerves after a while (if music is not for the first time) but as a slice of 30 € of nostalgia, it is hard to beat.

Full games list: Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle, Alien Storm, Altered Beast, Arrow Flash, columns III, Crack Down, Decap Attack, bean machine, Eswat Cyber Police city under siege, Ecco, Ecco Jr., Shinobi III of Dr. Robotnik-return of master Ninja, Flicky, Gain Ground, Golden Axe, Jewel Master, Kid Chameleon, Sonic Spinball, Shadow Dancer, Sonic & Knuckles.
