Which gaming console should you buy?

Which console to buy has becoming increasingly more complex? It's now not simply a case of picking the one with the top games or the next generation console/upgrade of the one you already have. The main consoles to choose from are the PSP3, Wii and the Xbox 360.

If you read my Wii review it describes this console as the most ground breaking when it was first released changing the course of gaming for years to come and spawned the newer controllers from its competitors. Since this original review Nintedo have improved its original Wii Remote, with the MotionPlus for an improved/increased accuracy. The Wii is great value if the type of games and controller appeal to you, a very good alternative to the other power-strong consoles.

If high grade graphics is what you're after, you should be looking at the Xbox 360 or the PS3. The PS3 specification boasts the best console graphically and is free to play online. The unit also doubles as a Blu-ray player and the PlayStation Move controller gives a wireless experience similar, if not better than the Wii MotionPlus.

The Xbox 360, on the other hand have a system called Xbox Live for online use, which does unfortunately come at a cost financially (but it is very reputable). The most interesting feature is its newest form of its controller, which is something a little different called 'Kinect', a controller less system that allows the users' body movements and speech to directly interact with games, like spinning a roulette wheel in a casino. A highly ambitious project leaving us in intense anticipation of its final results.

An in depth comparison can be seen in my console comparison review.

GamePark Holdings GP2X

Good ergonomic designGood range from simple life usesFar useBattery on AA batteries

Handheld games console is a ruthless. We lost count of the number of failed handheld and only Sony that their billions, was able to make a dent in Nintendo's absolute dominance. surface unknown GP2X, complete with idiosyncratic use Linux looks doomed to failure, but you can clear an Achilles heel for their Savior?

Strengths
GP2X GP32 is the spiritual successor to the GamePark Holdings, also from. Aesthetically it sits somewhere between the Sony PSP and game gear, Sega, which obviously isn't a bad thing; it feels great in your hands, though the quality is not obvious that, in the same league as its more established rivals.

The device has four buttons on the controller on the face, two shoulder triggers and small thumbstick to on the left side below this is the volume rocker adjust sound levels from the Tin, front Gran speakers in the middle of all this is 89 mm (3.5 inch) screen.

There is a sliding button on the left, which is almost impossible to press accidentally, so there is no chance of losing your progress in the game have inadvertantly. Top slot SD Plus headphones 2.5 mm, and on the right is the DC power and mini USB ports. At the bottom of the device there are port labelled EXT, which can be used to connect an external monitor, GP2X, or install more memory.

GP2X is more than just a handheld game console.Main menu of the device can play videos, listen to music, view photos and read eBooks. it is compatible with a variety of file formats out of the box, including DivX/XviD, MP3, OGG, WMA, JPEG and gif.

Behind the scenes the GP2X is a stripped-down version of the Linux operating system, which for the most part is a tremendous strength. This essentially makes the pocket computer on which you can run a wide range of applications, Linux, or even create your own.

More impressively for gamers, GP2X, you can run different emulators. It'll let you run your games for arcade SNES, PlayStation, game boy, almost everything else unfortunately you must own the original game in order to play them legally, but there are some free or "abandonware" titles, you can play without fear of pirate software.

Disadvantages
For all its potential for GP2X didn't feel the main product. You just can't pick it up and play with the same reckless abandon as Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. Actually get it to do anything requires a fair bit of tinkering, and (sometimes) some hair pulling.

We were a little disappointed in the amount of internal storage on the device.Only 64 MB NAND FLASH memory is available, so SD memory card is necessary. We recommend at least 512 MB, but if you intend to use your device as a platform to watch full-length videos you will need at least twice.

89 Mm screen is not as good as it can be. it's not as bright as we would like to see some text illegible, and display flickers on Dim mark low battery is itself can be widespread, as units only lasts a few minutes to AA alkaline cells is worth almost not bothering to slip into a pair of Duracells-better with rechargeable lithium ion battery that was to last up to 6 hours.

GP2X speakers also absolutely rubbish they nowhere near loud enough to listen to music in a noisy environment is generally excluded, unless you are willing to wear headphones.

Conclusion
Eventually the GP2X will appeal only to users who are willing to invest time and effort--it's not easy pick-up-and-play platform. those who are looking for immediate unrest are better off using the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. Having said this, we believe users with geeky side to get a lot of satisfaction from GP2X. for its various emulators has many exciting games of old school, and the ability to create your own applications on-make it worth considering.
