Which gaming console should you buy?

Which console to buy has becoming increasingly more complex? It's now not simply a case of picking the one with the top games or the next generation console/upgrade of the one you already have. The main consoles to choose from are the PSP3, Wii and the Xbox 360.

If you read my Wii review it describes this console as the most ground breaking when it was first released changing the course of gaming for years to come and spawned the newer controllers from its competitors. Since this original review Nintedo have improved its original Wii Remote, with the MotionPlus for an improved/increased accuracy. The Wii is great value if the type of games and controller appeal to you, a very good alternative to the other power-strong consoles.

If high grade graphics is what you're after, you should be looking at the Xbox 360 or the PS3. The PS3 specification boasts the best console graphically and is free to play online. The unit also doubles as a Blu-ray player and the PlayStation Move controller gives a wireless experience similar, if not better than the Wii MotionPlus.

The Xbox 360, on the other hand have a system called Xbox Live for online use, which does unfortunately come at a cost financially (but it is very reputable). The most interesting feature is its newest form of its controller, which is something a little different called 'Kinect', a controller less system that allows the users' body movements and speech to directly interact with games, like spinning a roulette wheel in a casino. A highly ambitious project leaving us in intense anticipation of its final results.

An in depth comparison can be seen in my console comparison review.

Sony PS3 Slim review

09 September 2009 launch price £ 250. 00 the price is right, and so is the size, HDD and Blu-ray playback. Forecast for late adopters buy a PS3 Stuff. tv hot buy professionals smaller size. More realistic Price. PS3 power cons multimedia slightly plasticky feel. Playback audio CD a little worse. Best games on Xbox 360The Sony PS3 Slim is restart your console liposuctioned multimedia powerhouse, here see off his rival – Microsoft's Xbox 360.

Is around 33 percent smaller, lighter and more energy efficient than its predecessor but Sony not removed any important things – the PS3 slim is virtually the same machine, with a larger hard drive, at a better price.

Minor updates
If you already have a Sony PS3, this means that there is little reason to pony up for the new template – unless the size of your old PS3 is leading you to distraction, or run out of hard disk space (they used to break a mere 20 GB).

Even so, you would be smarter simply updating the drive in your existing computer. but for those who still buy a PS3, Sony, now is the time.

Plastic surgery

Sony PS3 Slim is beautiful: a little more than the PS3 plasticky old but much more compact. pressing the kit down, there were two significant losses: you can't run Linux on it more and CD audio playback is very slightly worse.

Unless you're a nerd, no matter the former;unless you are an audiophile (which wouldn't play CDs on a PS3 anyway) the latter will not be too noticeable either.

Not backwards compatibility

Backwards compatibility with PS2 games also is missing, but it has been since the first models Sony PS3 anyway.

Smaller subtractions Discounts, you receive a bonus (if you are a nut Home Theatre): Sony PS3 Slim now throughputs flashy formats like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD direct to your home theatre amp via HDMI.

Blu-ray bonanza
One of the main strengths of PS3 Sony stays in home cinema movie discs high definition Blu-ray discs are the greatest single advantage that Slim PS3 has about Microsoft Xbox 360. movies in full HD 1080p jaw droppingly good appearance and teeth crunchingly sound good too.

There are lots of other multimedia power carried over from the old Sony PS3 also: RSS feeds, Home (Second Life online virtual space Look-alike PS3), Web browsing and compatibility of the BBC's iPlayer, for example., and of course, links to other game hardware, such as the Sony PSP and the eye of HD.
These capabilities polyvalent go a long way of concealing a PS3 Sony remaining weak point: the games. Simplifying, Microsoft's Xbox 360 version Trounces Sony PS3 yet in terms of online and single player games – with more unique keys, for now.

This is not to say that Sony PS3 slim is a slouch of game is not, and it's good to see that now comes with a DualShock 3 rumbling controller as standard. But a pure hardcore action games, Microsoft Xbox 360 still ahead.

For multimedia power in a small package however, Sony PS3 Slim cannot be beaten.
